I’ve been working on a project for my better half and moving her website and workflow to Adobe Lightroom 2 (she’s a photographer).

Part of the process is to post her client galleries following a shoot so they can view the images taken. I created a process for her to be able to do her Lightroom workflows but then export directly into the format needed for the online gallery.

Using the Lightroom SDK and SlideShowPro, I’m generating complete galleries with XML through a pretty slick process. And surprisingly, learning yet another programming language wasn’t all that hard.

Her redesigned site launches in another week or so. Check it out (and her blog) shes an amazing photographer. http://www.annietaophotography.com.

Now onto Objective-C!

Eventually I’ll post all my favorite gear on here and what I think of each piece of tech. For now, here’s one of my favorites. The Nikon D40x is an amazing camera that packs the perfect blend of technology for an SLR in a pint-sized package. The photos are amazing and for the price-point, can’t really be beat. The camera just feels good to hold and does pretty well against it’s big brothers. Granted it doesn’t have all the bells-whistles of the D90s and up, but for all that I need. It’s perfect.

I’m now officially a part of the iPhone Developer Program (not that elite of a group). I’ve been considering it for a while now and with the introduction of the iPad, my mind is going crazy with ideas of what could be done with it. Overall I wasn’t that impress with what has been released, but the more that I think about it and consider, the more it makes sense.

1. Apple has every single price point covered from $39 to $3999 and higher. Basically there’s an Apple product that fits every budget.

2. The bezel around the tablet seemed huge at first, but then again if the screen went right up to the side, it’d be hard to hold. Having owned a HP TC1100 tablet (a near perfect form factor), I can say that holding a tablet means having part of your hand on the front part of the screen. Not a problem for the TC1100, but it didn’t have multi-touch either! If you look at all the photos, there’s a big ol thumb right where that “fat” bezel is. Given that it’s apple, it’s likely there was more thought going into it.

Anyhow, I’m strongly considering ordering one once it’s available. Beyond my craving for gadgets and new tech, I am really excited about the application possibilities and being able to create my own apps and use them on cool devices like the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad.

So…time will tell if I can come up with something cool and perhaps it’ll make its way onto the AppStore someday too!

I’ve been on a big kick of the integration of websites/blogs into the same infrastructure as it’s just overall so much easier for my clients to manage that way. If you’re looking to have a blog and you have a website in place, consider merging the two to take advantage of great options and integrations with sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
